Food Bazaar

Sometime ago I posted a blog post about our Food Bazaar announcement. And after the announcement...of course it's time for the real thing! Please read that if you haven't, or refresh your memory for those who forgot.  =)

The whole event was a mess. We reached college early yet informed later that the venue had changed from G floor to 1st floor. Lack of instructions and all.

In the end we still managed to get everything ready before our supposed starting time, 11:30am.

Selling stall!

Selling our "Happy Me" drink

The drink was easy enough to make, with a mixture of grape juice and 7up, added with ice and our special yogurt jelly balls!

Ingredients

The special jelly balls!

Segi College's 1st floor was famous for it's lack of people. And seriously, it was like people who came by were only those who came to support their friends.

Of course there weren't just us selling at this Food Bazaar! All our classmates from Marketing class all took part in it and there was quite a variety of food and drinks there that day, ranging from donuts to fruits to meehoon and cupcakes.

Sales was quite good at the start, where drinks were sold very rapidly. But as the time went by the sales rate started to drop. There were less people walking around college, and the lunch hour had passed.

Wei Fong and Chloe and Syeli came to help us, and most of the time we just grabbed a few cups on a tray and went out to G floor or other parts of Segi College to sell them.

We had a bit trouble with our ingredients, as we did not expect so much 7up to be used. Halfway through the Food Bazaar Zac had to run out to buy a few more bottle so that we could continue selling.

Then around 2:45pm (the Food Bazaar ended at 3pm) our yogurt jelly balls were almost finished! Had to stop selling, with 3 cups less from our target of 100 cups.

But still we used up most of the ingredients, and the sales were quite good! =)

Special thanks to the 3 who came out to help us in everything, and thanks to everyone who supported us by buying our drinks!

As said before, 50% of our profit will be donated to Japan and yes we really did so. Might not have been a large amount, but it's just a showing that we care.

Now or Never

Monday, April 11, 2011 |

It's 12:52am.
I'm still here.

Every semester, at this time
I'll be in this state.

Wouldn't it be nice to just slack off for once?
Sorry, but by subconscious won't let me do so.
2 more weeks to go.
It's either now,
or never.

Announcement : Food Bazaar

Tuesday, April 5, 2011 |

This maybe a bit much to ask, but I know all of you are people that are willing to help whenever you can...right?

Are you happy today?

Obviously it isn't meant for today. ( It's 9:39pm as I'm typing this and "today" is almost over.)

My Principles of Marketing classmates and I are organizing a Food Bazaar at our college, Segi College Subang Jaya's G floor tomorrow from 12 noon to 3 pm.

The flyer above is for my group's stall, and we're selling drinks. =)

Our drink is called "Happy Me" and yah, we hope everyone who drinks it can get happy, or even happier than before.

The main ingredients would be 7up + Grape juice and something magical which we'd like to keep a mystery till tomorrow! =)

Why RM3? That sounds a bit pricy right?

50% of our profit will be donated to Japan, that's why.

It's barely a month ago, when a huge earthquake and tsunami hit Japan, followed by series of disasters that included the explosion and melt down of their nuclear power plants.

More than 12,000 lost their lives in this tragedy. 300,000 people lost their homes. Children lost their parents, parents lost their childs.

That's why we thought we'd donate half of our profit to these victims. The profit earned from this food bazaar was ours to claim, but we decided to donate them out. The donation will be done through the Malaysia Girl's Guide Japan Fund which is also helped by The Star newspaper and Maybank.

So, please come and support us tomorrow from 12noon to 3pm!  Just by one drink you can satisfy your thirst (I predict its gonna be hot as usual tomorrow) and help out people that are in need at the same time!

Whether you're a Segi student or not, you're welcome to come! There will be other types of food and drinks sold by our other classmates too. =)

Remember our drink name is "Happy Me". Won't be too hard to find among all the people.

Make everyone happy,
Shanay

Segi's Dean List Awards

Sunday, April 3, 2011 |

25 March 2011, Friday

My mum used to say, back in her time, the Dean List Award was something very valuable. Only a few, or maybe one student from the whole course could get it.

Well, in Segi College apparently, this doesn't totally apply. Cause we had more than 200 students that day, all getting this award.

And I was one of them. Yay for me?

Everyone getting in to their seats.

The ceremony started that day with a few performances from students from our own Music Department.

Then we had speeches (okay its ONE speech by our headmistress, Dr. Lisa, but hell was it long...), the national anthem, some slide shows of student achievements... and finally the main point of the ceremony.

Could you imagine, 200+ students going on to the stage one by one? Even the waiting line was super long.

Good thing my faculty was among the first few to start in the waiting line.

FOCAD!

I really think the reason we all went was to go take photos. Since we took DAMN lot of them!

Everyone was in formal attire! Something you don't see everyday!

Carmen, Mein Yee, Cleo, Grace, Alex, Me and Wei Fong

Clement looking happy!

Carmen and Theresa

It's an honour, I guess.

And the ceremony isn't a yearly thing, is just the second time Segi has organized such a event. Will there be another one before I graduate? =)

Look of the day!

Chubby face!!
